 Vessel range

The vessel range is destined for flake ice production on board of seagoing vessels. Having to cope with a ships pitch and roll and the fact that fresh water is not available, these systems have a different design than the other ice machines. To make them suitable for the harsh environment on a vessel the following main design parameters have been met:

  • Unique surface of the drum in combination with pressurized water injection provides constant quality ice flakes regardless of the vessel’s pitch or roll (up to a maximum inclination of 35 °). A patented special finishing of the drum surface material let’s the water stick to the drum after spraying.

  • Ice drum
    • Stainless steel ice drum to allow for the use of salt water to make ice from
    • Water injection system to spray the water onto the drum and make sure that the water is forced on the cylinder wall in order not to drip into the ice storage
    • Special internal finishing of the drum to make the water stick to the drum
  • For easy service all compressors are Bitzer open drive compressors as is quite common on vessels
  • Ice production from seawater. No fresh water is needed for ice production!
  • Industry leading compactness: Highly compact configuration of the unit makes it very versatile to be used in very tight spaces
  • Sea water cooled condenser
  • Vessel flake ice machines are CE-marked marine duty equipment
  • All ice-drums and ice knifes (with frame construction) are made of stainless steel
