Impregilo Italy
Recom receives large order from big Italian Construction Company.

Recently B&S Cooltech/Recom Ice Systems received a prestigious order to supply two (2) independent fully automatic Recom Flake Ice plants totaling a daily production of 360 tons (each 180T/day). The Recom equipment will be combined with concrete mixing equipment to serve as a concrete factory for the construction of a hydroelectric dam at Tocantins River, 150 km south of Imperatriz, Brazil. The order is given by the consortium of Impregilo Italy and Construtora OAS Ltd. named as “Consorcio Rio Tocantins.

As one of several candidates Recom Ice Systems of The Netherlands was asked to quote for this project. Recom had already successfully supplied and commissioned an ice storage for Impregilo in Venezuela. Recom was awarded for this order due to the fact that they were able to provide a very complete factory at a very competitive price.

The order comprises the following main machinery:

  • 4 sets containerized Recom Flake Ice plants each 90 Ton per day. Each plant houses in a 40’ container equipped with 6 semi-hermetic Bitzer screw compressors. On top the evaporative condensers will dissipate the absorbed heat
  • 4 sets automatic containerized 23 Ton flake ice storages with autonomous cooling system to maintain an internal temperature of -8 °C
  • 4 sets screw delivery systems, each with a length of 14 mtr and a capacity of 15 Tons per hour
  • 4 sets day-tanks with weighing hoppers
  • 2 sets of 17,5m3/hr. containerized water chillers cooling river water from 30 °C to 4°C

All of these machines are mechanically interconnected as well as connected to a central Recom PLC. Not only does this PLC combine all of the Recom hardware to operate as one, it also communicates with the batching plant computer.

The entire transport on CIF basis will be organized by Recom. As part of this order Recom engineers will be responsible for installation on site as well as the start up / commissioning of the plant.

In order to assure a smooth operational transition to the site operators Recom will keep staff on site for a duration of 6 months after completion. During this period Recom will be able to address any possible questions as well as transferring the required knowledge to the people on site.

Recom Ice Systems – Technology as Pure as Ice itself

Itticom Italy
Flake ice storage for tuna and for commercial exploitation

Itticom is an Italian company who’s main activities are in processing and international sales of high quality tuna. When they needed a new ice storage they contacted Recom Ice Systems and made a joint visit to a reference plant in Dubai. After consulting various other suppliers they made a decision in favor o Recom Ice Systems, based on the price – quality comparison.

The order concerns an AIS23, a 23 tons ice storage complete with internal automated rake mechanism and autonomous cooling system.

Impregilo Italy
Dam Construction in Venezuela

Impregilo is the leading Italian engineering and general contracting group in the construction and environmental sectors. For a project in Venezuela Impregilo awarded Recom Ice Sytems with a contract to supply an ice storage, an ice delivery system and an ice weighing system.

The equipment is used in combination with (plate) ice production equipment previously owned by the customer. The ice will be mixed with water and the ice/water mixture will be added to the concrete.

Recom’s delivery consisted of:

  • a 23 ton ice storage with internal rake mechanism, outlet screw and autonomous cooling system
  • (2) spiral delivery systems to elevate the ice to the height of the mixer
  • (1) weighing hopper

The entire plant is controlled by a touch screen PLC.

Recom staff from The Netherlands have commissioned the plant in Venezuela in March 2007.

Anova Food The Netherlands
Delivery of several industrial flake ice machines

Dutch Company Anova Food, international supplier of  a wide array of fish products have put their trust in Recom Ice Systems.

When Anova needed to make a decision to purchase a new flake ice machine because the previous Recom machine was becoming too small to meet Anova’s increasing flake ice requirements, the decision to buy a new Recom machine was quickly made. It was based on Anova’s previous experience with a Recom machine that just kept on running and running, without showing any failures or other issues. The quality of the ice itself as well as the technology of the machine were the basis for going for the same brand.

For Anova, another aspect that made a big difference is the commitment of the Recom team, displayed in their flexibility and their support.

The National Investment Company in Tanzania
Complete Fish Processing plant (Ice Factory & additional cooling equipment)

On behalf of Tanzania Fish Development Company Recom was approached by the National Investment Company of Tanzania. Initially the request came to quote (2) 25 ton flake ice machines. During the process the customer indicated the need for ice storage and ice transport systems, which were then also added to the quotation. Furthermore the need for other cooling and freezing equipment, needed to complete the entire fish processing plant, came to surface.

In the end Recom received the order for the complete ice factory with storage and transport systems, as well as the entire cooling/freezing plant, from air curtain to industrial freezing plant, from water chiller to industrial air coolers.

The construction and installation phase will be supervised by the Recom agent Dulotrop. The commissioning and user training will be carried out by Recom staff from The Netherlands.
